Divas On Fire Headed To The IBC

You know the saying “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts...”? Divas On Fire is living proof!

Nine female singers, songwriters and musicians make up Divas On Fire. As individuals they are formidable vocal talents and songwriters, butr as a group they are a soulful force presenting original material over grooves inspired by Sister Rosetta Tharpe, Bobby Blue Bland and Susan Tedeschi. The group includes vocalists Rachel Fields of Brick Fields, Lectric Liz Lottmann of Jigsaw Mud, Leah Spears of Leah and the Mojo Doctors, Dawn Cate of Dawn Cate and The Rhythm Kings, the legendary Ocie Fisher and the young up and coming Arkansas vocalist Tori Rudolph. The band includes drummer Diane Rudolph of "An Eye for a Lie", bassist Alma Blecher, guitarist Jody Andrews and one the sole male of the group, Matt Perrine on guitar.

Song topics range from the highly personal yet universally transcendent truths best suited to blues: bone-deep losses, crises of faith, and everything you wish you’d said when a drunken troglodyte gives you a pick up line.

Divas On Fire will be competing in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN.
